About us

Crossroads Community Church is an Assemblies of God congregation that meets in Gray, Maine. We believe the Bible is God’s Word — accurate, authoritative, and relevant to everyday life — and that the church’s calling is to make disciples, not just fill seats.

Our vision: To see people have true encounters with God, allow Him to transform us to be more like His Son Jesus, which will not only impact our lives, but also our communities. We meet collectively Sunday mornings, and throughout the week in small group settings.

Pastor Paul Barone has led the church since 2019. He’s originally from New York City, but put down roots in Gray, Maine in 2014.

Intentional in the Word

The Bible is our authority. Everything we teach is built on Scripture — not trends, not opinion.

Intentional in Worship

Worship is an offering, not a performance. We enter worship to have an encounter with God and allow His transforming work to happen in our hearts.

Intentional in Community

Faith without action is hollow. We are intentional in treating each other like family. Offering hope and encouragement when needed. We also serve our neighbors and community every Sunday morning through Bread of Life food pantry.

Our Vision
“To see people have true encounters with God, allow Him to transform us to be more like His Son Jesus, which will not only impact our lives, but also our communities.”

Our Mission

This is the mission of every Christian church according to the Great Commission given to us by Jesus before He left. And when He left, He left us the Holy Spirit to empower us to that end – to make disciples of all nations.

What We Believe

The following are our core beliefs here at Crossroads.

The Bible

We believe the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.2 Tim. 3:16

God

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit who is totally loving and completely Holy.Mat. 28:19

Jesus Christ

We believe the Lord Jesus Christ is both God and Man and is the only one that can reconcile us to God.Col. 1:15-16

Salvation

We believe that Jesus, being both God and man, died for everyone’s sins. Every man, woman and child can experience a personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ.John 3:16, 14:6

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is still at work in the lives of every Christ follower and each person can experience His power in their lives through seeking a deeper work of the Spirit each and every day.Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4

Miracles

We believe that God still does miracles and wants to heal and transform us so that we can freely live the holy, fruitful, and power-filled lives He intends for us.James 1:3-4, 5:14–16

The Church’s Mission

We believe the church’s mission is to present a clear message of God’s love extended to people through Jesus Christ and to make disciples of Jesus.Matt. 28–19–20; Mark 16:15

Discipleship

We believe God has individually equipped us and corporately united us as His living body so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives, which is to worship God, strengthen one another, and share the Gospel with the community in which we live.Ephesians 4:12

Ministries

Community Outreach

Bread of Life

We provide food, clothing, and practical support to neighbors in need. Led by Steve Dunn, Bread of Life is how we put our faith into action in the Gray community — not a program, but a consistent commitment to serving people where they are.

Connection

Crossroads Connect

The starting point for anyone who wants to get more involved — whether you’re new to the church or have been around for years. A practical way to find your place in the congregation.

Wednesdays · 12:30pm

Bible Study

Doreen Dunn facilitates a Wednesday afternoon Bible study at 12:30pm. A smaller group setting for people who want to go deeper into Scripture and conversation outside of Sunday morning.

Men’s Ministry

Men of Crossroads

Led by Deacon Bryan Lewis — one of the church’s longest-standing members — focused on discipleship, accountability, and teaching Scripture among men. Originally from Alabama, Bryan felt called to Maine and has been committed to this community ever since.

Sundays · 10:30am

Music Ministry

Cristie Barone leads worship every Sunday morning. Contemporary music directed toward genuine worship — not a concert, not background music. Something in between that invites the congregation to actually participate.

Online

Online Church

Can’t make it in person? Services are available through our online church portal and on YouTube. The full service experience, from anywhere in Maine or beyond.
